Milito out for the season after Inter injury 1.0 out of 5 based on 1 votes.

FC Internazionale Milano forward Diego Milito will be out for the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury in the opening minutes of his side's 2-0 UEFA Europa League round of 32 win against CFR 1907 Cluj.

The 33-year-old Argentinian forward was carried off early on at San Siro after twisting his left knee and was immediately taken to hospital in Pavia where damage to his anterior cruciate ligaments, collateral ligaments and knee cap was diagnosed. Milito, who had only returned to action following a different knee injury at the weekend, will need to undergo surgery and will be out of action for at least six months.

Milito, who joined Inter from Genoa CFC in 2009, has a special place in the history of the Nerazzurri after scoring both goals of the 2-0 win against FC Bayern München in the 2010 UEFA Champions League final.
