Calling all local photographers
Help us build a unique picture of the city at a mysterious time of day
The 4am project was started by Karen Strunks and has become a global phenomenon. The basic idea is to get a bunch of people to take a photo of where they are at 4am on a certain date - the outcome is a global image made up collectively from local perspectives.
Karen started the project after driving at 4am she noticed how different the cityscape looked in the rising sunlight – with streets normally busy with people and traffic deserted.
The last 4am project took place in December and here are some of the images taken.
Karen is inviting people to get involved in the next global project which will take place at 4am on Sunday 4 April.
Inspired by Karen's project, I'm calling on those interested in building a unique picture of Cardiff's cityscape at a beautiful time of day to get involved in the Cardiff 4am project.
This will take place at the same time as the global 4am Project on the same day and tell the story of Cardiff in a new way, while adding the city view to the global picture.
If you'd like to take part in the project:
* Grab your camera or camera-phone wherever you are in the city at 4am and take a snap.
* Once you've uploaded your pictures you can add them to the Guardian Cardiff Flickr group, tagged 'Cardiff4am' and '4amproject'. Add a description too.
We'll create a slideshow of the photos which will give a fantastic picture of the city at 4am.
